Leo Bachmann
The Lucerne-born bass-baritone began his musical career as a drummer at the Lucerne Music School. In his late teens, he discovered his passion for singing.
From 2015 to 2023, Leo Bachmann studied at various institutions: from 2015 to 2016 in the preparatory program with Peter Brechbühler at the Lucerne University of Music, and from 2016 at the Bern University of the Arts in the class of Christian Hilz, where he completed his Bachelor’s degree in summer 2019 and his Master of Performance in January 2023.
During this time, Leo Bachmann gained extensive experience in various opera productions. He has performed roles such as Osmin in noch eine Entführung… at the Atelier Theater Meilen, Kezal in Die verkaufte Braut at the Kammeroper Schloss Rheinsberg, and Sarastro with the Medizinerorchester Bern.
Leo Bachmann is supported by the Marianne and Curt Dienenmann Foundation, and he has been awarded prizes at the Kammeroper Schloss Rheinsberg and the Opernspiele Munot, as well as third place in the Crystal Note Award in Rome.
In addition, he is a chorister at the Zürich Opera House and co-president of WorkshOpera Bern.
